My work is gestural, oversized calligraphic brush markings and large scale in nature. I paint in a "no-mind" Zen state, relying on intuition for guidance and physical strength for maneuvering large brushes and mops across unstretched canvas on the studio floor. Current (2-3 years) creative endeavors aside from painting on canvas, are experiments with painting on metal panels using oxidation techniques, sculpture making and silk textiles. Specializing in site-specific commissions for interior and exterior environments, my works can be seen in a growing number of private, corporate and public collections from Vancouver, B.C. to Luxembourg, Europe.
