Florida Artist:

The art I love and the style I strive for is classic realism or as some describe it: representational art. My style of oil painting is a combination of utilizing old master techniques and Ala Prima. Wildlife and Landscapes are my favorite subjects although I also study portraiture and still life. I love to travel to remote areas of Florida to paint the wetlands, old Florida and to see the wildlife in their natural element. Zoos and artists animal sketch outs have supplied me with picture references for the more exotic animals.

My art is meant to evoke a sense of peacefulness, beauty and understanding of what the subject is. My plein air landscapes are meant to capture scenes of how things use to be or are now before they are gone forever. As a member of Plein Air Florida and the Central Florida Plein Air Artists, we travel the state participating in paintouts and raising awareness and appreciation of the world around us.
