| Mirjana Cesar was born in Zagreb,Croatia in 1964. From a very young age she felt an urge to design and create her own clothing,jewelry and countless one-of-a-kind accessories.Writing poetry is part of her life since early teenage years. Mirjana attended Wood Technology and Furniture Design College in Zagreb. In 1992,after the end of the Croatian War,Mirjana and her husband moved to the USA,where their three children were eventually born. In recent years,Mirjana decided to blend her creativity with all the diverse skills she had acquired throughout her life,embarking upon a new artistic quest of self-expresion. In an effort to create unique and original art pieces,she sought materials that spoke to her artistic ethos:Burlap mainly because of its natural look and organic roughness,using it as a painted background,combining it with fabric cutouts,yarns and wood beads. Today,as her work enters a new evolutionary state,Mirjana looks forward to incorporating several other art techniques,united them within the context of her distinctive vision to create one-of-a-kind pieces. - Mirjana Cesar |
